Organic & Healthy
“Organic and healthy” is placed a high value on today’s food selection. Iberian pigs are the best known pork products with added value of their organic certification. The organic lives stock farming has shown itself as a cost-effective way to maintain the balance of the natural world and lives stock farming.

Dehesa System

For generations, human activity has peacefully co-existed with the conservation of the environment in the wooded pastures of the dehesa system. The importance of this unique ecosystem comes mainly from the multiple and sustainable use of the resources, goods and services that society offers.

The traditional exploitation of the Iberian pig is based on the use of the already existing natural resources around the wooded pastures where availability of food sources is varied throughout the year. The period in which there is the most abundance of food is during the Fall and Winter seasons. During this period, if it is a good year, the animals take advantage of the mast-feeding season; in conjunction with the pastures’ natural resources : grasses, aromatic plants, grains and, mainly, acorns, which are eaten directly by the animals while they are grazing.

Organic livestock production assures the animal’s maximum well-being in its environment. The organic Iberian pig feeds in pastures whose grass and natural vegetation are not polluted by toxic residues from pesticides or herbicides and, in the event that they receive additional feedings, this food must be certified and authorized for use in ecologically friendly production.

Free-range pigs eat acorns, grass and aromatic herbs in the pasture until they have had their fill. The physical activity that the pig does in search of food, slows the fattening of the animals and causes that the fat to further intersperse in the meat, thus obtaining more tender meat with exceptional flavor.

Organic Iberian pig production is thus shown to be the most adequate. In addition to the care that feeding requires and the life in the pasture, the guarantee of good agrarian practices provides added value to this exclusive product..

Lycopene is a very potent natural antioxidant that belongs to the family of carotenoids that gives that characteristic red color to tomatoes, water melons and, in lesser quantities, to other fruits and vegetables. It has properties that are very beneficial for our health as it acts by protecting the organisms oxidative stress cells. When eating vegetables human beings take advantage of just 5% de lycopene, associated with oil it is 90% digestible.

Lycopene consumption Health Benefits
Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of lycopene on our health:

Notably reducing the incidences of cancerous pathologies, above all: lung, colon, digestive tract and especially prostrate.
Reduces the levels of cholesterol, lowering the possibilities of suffering cardiovascular illnesses.
Prevents the macular degeneration syndrome, principal cause of blindness in elderly people.
Prevents infertility problems improving the quantity and quality of sperm.
Delays the signs of aging.
Has anti-inflammatory properties.
Strengthens the immunological system.
Lycopene Olive Oil

Mechanically product obtained from a process without the use of organic solvents, which holds the mixture of tomato concentrate made from tomatoes (Licopersycum esculentum) natural, mature, fresh and clean and Virgin Olive Oil Extra obtained by simple mechanical compression of the olive (also, without the use of solvents).
100% Natural: During the extraction process, lycopene is directly obtained from the tomato flesh by means of a smooth and mechanical process which does not involve any kinds of solvent. It is 100% chemical-free and the process generates 0% waste. “The majority of lycopene in the market is extracted by means of chemical solvents”.
Traceability: At our plantation, located only a few kilometers from the plants, we work meticulously to harvest a healthy fruit in order to produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil with excellent quality. At the same time we cultivate “pear tomatoes” naturally in open air, they contain the richness of premium Lycopene, due to the sufficient hours of sunlight and the varieties of the species.
Global Patent – The process is patented internationally with publication number: WO 2006/111591 A1.
Synergy – Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Lycopene are the two principal food products in the Mediterranean diet. When combined together, the two provide antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients, which lead to an important health advantage.
Bioavailability – When human bodies ingest Lycopene from the intake of vegetables, in a best-case scenario only 5% can be assimilated. However when combined with oil it can be 90% digestible. Furthermore, clinical studies have shown that the bioavailability of Lycopene with Extra Virgin Olive Oil exceeds other types of vegetable oil.

Environmental Protection
Growing consumer preference for socially and environmentally responsible companies is also incentivizing our desire to recycle waste and/or produce their products from recycled materials. As a responsible company, we are aiming to make others’ life less harsh on the planet, and would try our best endeavor to ensure that we and our suppliers use biodegradable and recyclable packing materials or containers. Furthermore, we encourage customers to reuse or return the gift hamper container to I Jamon Museo for recycling purpose.

Environmental protection is a global problem and a lifetime commitment. Mother Nature has been generous providing us everything that we need and it is our responsibility to keep it that way for the sake of future generations. We shall continuously focus and work on the issues of “using less, reusing more and recycling what we can”.
